Main Engine Alignment & Mounting Replacement \u2013 Funchal & Viana do Castelo<\/strong><\/p>\n

With one of the largest specialized workshop for MAK marine engines in North-Western Europe, Bolier has been one of our long time, highly valued customers. In cooperation with and on behalf of Bolier, one of our alignment engineers<\/a> has carried out an inspection on the ship Lobo Marinho. This ship, equipped with a luxurious interior and first-class lounges, is used for a daily ferry service between the Portuguese islands of Madeira and Porto Santo in the North Atlantic Ocean.<\/p>\n

Our engineer performed alignment checks on the two MAK 16 M32C main engines and also performed a technical inspection on the existing Rubber Design RD114 resilient mounts. These conical mountings ensure a solid connection between the ship’s engines and the foundation, isolating the engine vibrations<\/a> as much as possible. Based on the measurement results and our alignment report with recommendations, the ship owner decided to replace the mountings. EMHA was contracted to install<\/a> the new RD114 mounts.<\/p>\n

Upon delivery of the new resilient mountings, two EMHA alignment engineers traveled to Viana do Castelo to replace the mountings on both main engines. After the successful installation, both engines were re-aligned according to technical specifications, ensure an optimal alignment and minimal vibrations. We wish Lobo Marinho many more successful crossings!<\/p>\n
