Historical heritage in top condition: EMHA performs engine alignment on board tugboat Oude Waal 3<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

In 1942, tugboat Oude Waal 3, type Amsterdammer, was built at the Voorwaarts shipyard. Powered by an Industriemotor 3VD6 engine with a maximum speed of 340 revolutions per minute, it was affectionately known as a \u201cslow speed diesel engine\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After its launch, the tugboat entered service with Mr C. Schipper. In the decades that followed, the ship changed owners several times, until it eventually came under the care of the Stichting Erfgoed Schepen (Ship Heritage Foundation). For several years now, this maritime gem has been back in private hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recently, the Oude Waal 3 was at Bas Strumpel in Alphen aan den Rijn for maintenance work. The engine was completely overhauled in the workshop of F. Kooyman Scheepsreparatie and Dieselservice BV in Krimpen aan de IJssel. After this overhaul, the engine was reinstalled on board. EMHA was then called in to align<\/a> the engine with millimetre precision and chocking it with Chockfast Orange,<\/a> a durable epoxy that ensures proper underfilling of the engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to this collaboration between professionals, the Oude Waal 3 can once again sail reliably for many years to come, seamlessly combining historical charm and modern technology in this special piece of sailing heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
